-When Massimo and I entered his home for the first time, he had already drawn at least 100 vases inspired by his clothes for our collection together, and had arranged them along the entire sofa. We selected the best, and this is where one of our biggest challenges began. I reinterpreted the designer’s sketches wanting to make his dream come true by emphasizing the lively forms and giving them a sculptural identity. Together we translated the clothes into monumental architecture, chose the colours that most represented his story and gave life to the amazing pieces, says Jean-Christophe Clair, Artistic Director of Rometti while talking about the new and extraordinary collaboration with one of the most iconic stylists of all time: Roberto Capucci.

With the opening event on 16th November and the official opening to the public from 17th November to 9th January, at the Triennale in Milan, the Cologni dei Mestieri d'Arte Foundation presents "METAFORE. Roberto Capucci: meraviglie della forma”. On this journey to discover the works of the great master, visionary genius and experimenter, the collection of ceramic vases created with Rometti will be unveiled. The collection is an explosion of shapes bordering on the impossible and turned on the wheel. The pieces are the echo of his extraordinary clothes, a new manifestation of their essence, and they seem to fly lightly on a red carpet, like one of the divas who was lucky enough to wear the creations of the silk sculptor.
-As a Roman, I've always heard of Roberto Capucci and his genius-, explains Massimo Monini, CEO of Rometti. – While getting to know him, I had the confirmation that the good said is only a tenth of his incredibleness. The extraordinary names he has dressed, the personal stories he has woven with the icons of the Italian dolce vita, the requests of nobility from all over the world, and the boundless love for Rome; his home is a contemplative museum of memories, moments and celebrities who have defined the aesthetic culture of two centuries. And in each of these moments, Capucci was there, speaking about them in an elegant and delicate way, with wearable works of art capable of portraying the soul of the people he decided to dress. Rometti looks forwarding to seeing you at the Triennale in Milan to accompany you on this journey in which haute couture tailoring and craftsmanship are intertwined, creating unprecedented horizons of art.
